Match 1---The Beginning
The match was stopped for a few minutes because Jacob was had blood on his neck. Jacob was taken to the announcer's stand to get some paper towels and find out the locatioin of his injury. The back of his left ear was ripped open. There was a lot of blood. The ref was a college wrestler and also an EMT and he was able to stop the bleeding. He then put some athletic tape on his ear, and it was back to the mat to finish the match. The coach went to his car to get some headgear for Jacob, circa the early 1900s. Joking, but the head gear is really old and UGLY.
Match 1---The Rest of the Match
Match 2
Jacob had to wrestle another match before his coach returned with the headgear. It didn't take him long to go for the pin in this match. His opponent played "dirty pool" as Jacob was preparing to pin him. He pushed on his injured ear with the heel of his hand and twisted it around, causing his ear to start bleeding again (00:35).
Match 3
The coach returned with the head gear, but the ancient snap would not snap. We were able to borrow a team mate's head gear, as he wasn't using it. During this match, there is clapping in the background from a mat across the gym. Nick, Shannon's son, was wrestling over there and the audience was clapping because Nick's opponent was being carried off the mat because due to a freak accident, his leg was broke. After this match, Jacob decided that he needed to go to the doctor after he was done for the day.
Match 4
After this match, Jacob asked, "Do I have third?" I told him that he would have third, if he won his next match. He said, "Okay."
Match 5
After he won this match, he and the other wrestlers, in his bracket, had to go to the awards area. His opponent from the first match apologized to him. Jacob said, "It's okay."
The awards.

Jacob's Wound
Jacob's ear after receiving five stitches in the er after the tournament.
Jacob impressed me. He persevered through the pain, wrestled all five matches and then went to get stitches. About four hours start to finish. I guess he really is a Garrison Trooper.
