School began on August 20. I'm began my 13th year of teaching music in White Shield. Jacob started 2nd grade.
We attended the United Tribes Pow Wow in Bismarck. There was a group from Soweto that performed.
September brought Jacob's 8th birtday. It hardly seems possible that he is eight years old. He and his cousins went swimming at Splashdown water park at the Sleep Inn motel in Minot. After swimming, we went for supper at Space Aliens.
Jacob helped his pack during the city wide cleanup in Garrison. They loaded curbside trash cans and tree branches into a pickup and trailer. When the pickup and trailer were full, the load was taken to the city dump. They also helped clean up a yard. The owner then shared stories and let the scouts look at his collection of old scout books. Gabriel went along and test rode his new set of wheels. It is the best stroller that I have every owned.

I've been waiting for this! I know face book is the new thing...but I have a love for the old fashioned blog. Thank you! It's so good to catch up--and happy belated b-day to Jacob (and he got a hair cut, too, I see. I liked his long hair, but I admit he looks really good with it short!)
