A Smile for Today----Winter in ND

My friend (and fellow music teacher)from New Town, who by the way is an absolute riot, sent me this poem and pic via email. When I read her emails, I am often found at my desk laughing hysterically or running to the bathroom. Maybe I should encourage her to blog. Did she compose this poem? I do not know, though I think it is very possible. Do I know who composed it? No.

North Dakota - January 2009

It's winter in North Dakota
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!
Oh, how I love North Dakota
When the snows up to your butt;
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave North Dakota,
Cause I'm frozen to the ground.

I think your friend should definitely blog! I'll have to send this to my friend who moved here from Belfield--I think she'll have to run to the bathroom, too!
